The CDCL/NHDC board is pleased to announce the vacancy for the post of Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer. Interested candidates fulfilling the criteria may apply in a sealed envelope addressed to the Chairman, CDCL, Thimphu

Qualification

1. Essential: Minimum Bachelors Degree in Engineering/business/commerce/economics/finance/management. Candidate having Master degree such as MBA/CPA/CA in the above fields will have added advantage.
2. Preferred:      Preference will be given for candidates with above qualification and experience with proven record of work execution at management level. The management level shall include experience as division heads and above in the Government agencies, General Managers and above in the public companies. Must have a good track record of about 15 years, and having experience in the management of companies on similar sector will added advantage.
3. Experience:    Minimum 15-20 years experience in the Government or Corporate Sector should have at least 5 years experience at the executive level.
4. Minimum age: 40 years of age as of 2010
5. Term of Contract: 3 years initial contract
6. Place of posting: CDCL/NHDC HQ, Thimphu
7. Other benefit/Entitlements: Commensurate with experience and qualification in line with the provisions of the Service Rules of the Corporation. 75,000/- Plus remuneration with other benefits.

Announcement (How to protect your PC from Viruses)

This is to inform all the users that, most of the computers are affected by virus through the sharing of Thumb drives.The viruses are spread when a user puts the thumb drive into another computer thus affecting other users also.Although the virus are being controlled from the central server, but it is very difficult to control from the sharing devices.

Therefore the IT-Unit of the Ministry would like to request all the officials to scan the thumb drives or any sharing devices with their Antivirus before opening the files into your computer.

The IT Unit would also like to infrom all the staffs to update their antivirus and if the users need any assistance please contact the ICT Unit for necessary actions.To update the latest virus definition and to download, please go to Downloads menu and the link for the latest virus definition update is given, in which you can download and keep you computer up-to-date from viruses.

The latest virus definition checks the latest virus that are being released and it will automatically scan those viruses and delete the viruses before the virus enters into your computer. Donot download from the site that are unknown for you, and if you have any problem for downloading anything from the net, please feel free to ask any of the IT Personnel to help you.

All DrukNet mail users from other ISPs in Bhutan will not be able to use the SMTP Settings of DrukNet (viz smtp.druknet.bt) from the 15th of July. This is a general practise of all ISPs to enhance security and performance. Therefore for customers using DrukNet mail, please contact your ISP for the change in the POP Settings. Customers will however be able to use the POP Settings (viz pop3.druknet.bt).

To enhance the security features of all DrukNet email users using email clients such as Microsoft Outlook and Outlook Express, DrukNet will now ask for an SMTP Authentication starting from the 15th of July.

We have tested the SMTP Authentication for various email clients such as Outlook Express, Microsoft Outlook and Thunderbird. For email clients such as Outlook Express and Microsoft Outlook, clients will be able to only receive mail.

Tests on Thunderbird has shown that it allows SMTP authentication and users using Thunderbird as an email client will not face any problems. We would thus like to request all users to switch to the Thunderbird email client for enhanced security in your mails.
