Launching of Guideline for Differently-abled Friendly Construction

desHer Majesty The Gyaltsuen Jetsun Pema Wangchuck  launched the ‘Guideline for DIfferently- Abled Friendly Construction’ during inaugural session of International Conference on Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorder held on 19th April 2017 at Royal Banquet Hall, Thimphu. The Ministry is truly blessed and honoured  by  the gracious patronage of Her Majesty The Gyaltsuen for launching the book during such an important occasion.

As a technical agency, the ministry strongly felt to uphold the inspiration of Their Majesties and  address the importance of barrier-free environment for everyone. This comprehensive guideline will guide the Planners, Architects, Engineers and Developers to plan, design and build barrier-free infrastructure to make our cities a place which is accessible and safe for all. It covers the design considerations and construction of barrier free infrastructure ranging from signage to lighting, street furniture, footpath, parks, play ground.
